Moving to the back of the truck Ernie had the entire bed, top and bottom,
smoothed and then Rhino lined. Black in the bed and red
underneath. He also had a gas tank from a standard cab
installed along with a side tilt bed. The tilt bed is actuated with
an airbag and utilizes a Cadillac trunk latch to hold it in place while
driving. The entire air system is powered by the stock Mitsubishi on
board compressor. In the engine compartment he installed a
polished alternator from an Eclipse and an intake from a Mitsubishi
3000gt. Everything else has been cleaned and either polished or
painted to compliment the 1991 Porshe red paint job sprayed on the
exterior of Ernie's ride. To finish the truck off Ernie had the
entire interior covered in tan and red tweed. He also installed a
Billet steering wheel and had it half wrapped in red tweed. Since
these pictures were taken he has added a new Clarion head unit, DVD
player, 7" TV, and 12" Kicker competition speakers powered by Rockford
Fosgate amplifiers.
His truck was featured in the Mini Truckin' Construction Zone in April of 2001 and graced the cover of that same magazine in February of 2003. Ernie is the president of No Regrets which just celebrated it's three year anniversary. Their main chapter is here in So Cal and they now have a chapter in Japan. Ernie wants to start his new project so badly that he is now selling
his truck with the low, low asking price of $10,000. |
